If you happen to be a fashion as well as a football fan then you can support England in the fashion stakes as well as on the pitch. As you’ve probably noticed World Cup promotions are everywhere at the moment and you can’t turn on the TV without seeing some kind of advert.

Very.co.uk have come up with a Very World Cup theme for their site and they have given each country playing in the World Cup a statement look to represent their country and are pitting them against the other teams to crown one country the World Cup winner!

England had their first round against the USA last week and did a little better than Fabio Capello’s team in the fashion stakes coming out on top with their ‘Cool Britannia’ look. England’s look is a mix of festival chic (think summer parkas and chunky wellies) and retro chic with funky tees and retro style accessories which beat the preppy teen USA look hands down.

Here’s to hoping that Rooney and co. put out their finest performances in the next match against Algeria, but in the meantime keep your eye on the Very.co.uk fashion matches where you can vote for your favourite looks –  you can vote for your favourite look to see who will be joining England in the fashion face-off quarter finals!’
